Standard One-Year Limited Warranty
Starlab® warrants that the Starlab Dome will be manufactured to meet quality standards and free of material or construction flaws at the time of purchase and for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase invoice date from Starlab (Warranty Period). During the Warranty Period, should a defect from workmanship or materials arise which results from a breach of warranty, Starlab will, at its sole discretion, either cover the cost to repair or replace the item, excluding shipping and handling fees and any duty/tax charges incurred by a customer located outside the United States). Liability is limited strictly to the cost you paid for the unit.
Starlab does not warrant components manufactured and branded by other manufacturers (e.g., BenQ projector, Jenoptik fisheye lens). However, during the Starlab Warranty Period, Starlab will expedite warranty repairs through the original manufacturer for components purchased but not manufactured by Starlab. Should service be necessary during the warranty period, please contact Starlab. All items will need to be returned to Starlab so that they can be sent out for service.
- All other items, including laptop, projector, and lens, are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
- The curriculum is covered by a separate warranty and end user license agreement available here.
THIS DOCUMENT INCLUDES ALL APPLICABLE GUARANTEES; WE DON’T OFFER ANY OTHERS, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY CLAIMS ABOUT GENERAL QUALITY OR SUITABILITY FOR SPECIFIC USE CASES.
Accessories, replacement parts, and software purchases through Starlab® are excluded from warranty protection unless explicitly stated in the online product description.
This warranty is void if the product has been subjected to misuse, unauthorized repairs, alterations, or other causes not arising from defects in original materials or workmanship. The cloth Starlab Dome is not designed for outdoor use, and any damage from outdoor usage is not covered by the warranty. Natural breakdown of colors and cloth material comprising the Starlab Dome is expected over a period of extended time and usage, and this breakdown is not covered by the warranty.
The customer should carefully inspect the Starlab Dome upon arrival at the customer’s designated shipment address. Small items may be hidden in packaging materials. Contact Starlab for replacement of missing or damaged items within seven (7) business days of receipt of goods. The customer should immediately report suspected warranty issues and retain all packaging, if possible, if damage to the Starlab Dome is suspected to have occurred during transit. The customer is responsible for a reasonable degree of troubleshooting before making a warranty claim. The Starlab sales and customer service department will assist with the troubleshooting process, if necessary. Warranty claims must be made during the Warranty Period to Starlab.
Damage to the Starlab Dome that is not covered under warranty will be repaired for a reasonable rate and a fee will be charged for both repair and return shipping.
Starlab is not responsible for indirect losses, business disruption, or related expenses, including lost profits, or other expenses or damages resulting from any failure, defect, or malfunction of the Starlab Dome.
This warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without reference to choice of law rules. Any legal action regarding this policy must be filed in the state of Florida courts located in Nassau County, Florida. Customer consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of such court.
This warranty policy supersedes and replaces all previous warranty policies.
Returns, Repairs, and Replacements
- Contact Starlab to discuss your repair and return needs.
- Upon contacting Starlab, a return number (RMA) or service order number, will be issued if it is deemed that the equipment must be returned for either replacement or an evaluation to determine repair needs.
- All equipment that is sent to the Starlab facility for repair requires an RMA or service order depending on the reason for the shipment.
- The dome must be rolled up and placed in the duffel bag and put in a cardboard box prior to shipping. If you are shipping the projector in a cardboard box, please make sure that the projector is protected with a layer of bubble pack padding. Do not use packing peanuts, as they shift too much during shipping and handling.
- Starlab strongly recommends that you purchase insurance for the projector, dome and cylinder when shipping items back to our facility.
- Upon receipt of the goods in our facility, a Starlab technician will evaluate the equipment to determine the service(s) required.
